- ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
Our client is one of the world’s largest brand-name apparel marketers with sale in more than 110 countries, which no other company with a comparable global presence in the jeans and casual pants markets. To cope with their business growth and uphold their leadership position in Greater China region, they are seeking for a Marketing Director – Greater China Region.
LOCATION
Hong Kong or Shanghai / Beijing, China
POSITION & MAIN PURPOSE
The Greater China Marketing Director will have responsibility for developing, maintaining and executing the strategic marketing plan as well as all related staff. He/She will develop the marketing programs in adherence with the overall APAC strategic plan including: brand positioning; existing and new product portfolio messaging; market and competitive analysis; customer segment selection and penetration plans; consumer and retail marketing programs, promotional strategies to reinforce brand positions and support strategic sales growth.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Marketing Director – Greater China reports directly to the APAC Chief Marketing Officer.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight of the marketing function of the Greater China region. The key responsibilities and priorities of the position will include, but not be limited to the following:
?Lead strategic and tactical planning process to achieve the sales and profit plan objectives for the Company, including product, pricing, promotion and program dimensions
?Direct and oversee execution of all elements of the Regional Marketing Plan at the affiliate level.
?Sponsor consumer and market research to understand the brand dynamics, consumer needs and wants and market opportunities.
?Leads all activities to raising brand awareness, establishing brand leadership in the market place and achieve excellent customer satisfaction levels to meet targeted performance levels.
?Apply principles of public relations, media planning and sponsorships to extend and improve the effectiveness of plans.
?Manage internal and external relationships to create wins in marketing and promotional activities.
?Understand and apply creative media and promotional testing and measurement tools to inform plan development and assess performance.
?Provide directions for developing and managing strategies for visual merchandising and point of sale.
?Monitor quantitative and qualitative impact of the retail strategies on sales performance.
?Continuously contribute to the improvement of key marketing process e.g. marketing planning and communication.
?Monitor and analyze market and competitor activity, recommending the right course of action for the business.
?Develop programs to position and/or improve products to maximize mix based on competitive reality
?Strategize and develop the marketing and branding strategy for the organization, as well as implement the plan.
?As the spearhead of the business, he/she will actively participate in the internal dialogue and lead his/her teams and team members towards growing the brand equity of the organization.
?Support countries with targeted promotions.
?Build and manage relationships with countries and key marketing partners, with clearly articulated objectives, to quality standards and to budget.
?Direct the development and implementation of marketing programs including consumer and retail marketing events.
?Coordinating with APAC resources to execute strategies. Review project requests and requirements and assign work to appropriate staff to develop specific programs and projects as they are approved.
?Work in conjunction with sales and product line management in order to recommend and implement specific marketing programs and maintain a global market focus for all programs in order to build brand awareness and success for the corporation
?Direct the development and implementation of product specific and sales promotions and marketing campaigns to focus on designated products or target markets.
?Participate in senior management strategic planning discussions; create and deliver the enabling marketing strategy.
?Provide client and general market feedback to other members of Marketing management team
?Perform analysis of market opportunities and emerging trends, collect and synthesize new ideas for future product development.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The highly motivated and seasoned candidate for this role will have:
?The successful candidate will have progressive experience in marketing leadership roles in the consumer and retail marketing; HK/China experience is a must.
?He/She should posses the competencies of consumer insights, communication concept planning, advertising and promotion, public relations and publicity, internet, and brand protection and use of trademarks.
?Be energetic, dynamic and culturally savvy; with strong presentation and convincing skills, in order to be the 'brand ambassador.‥

?The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial, open-minded individual who operates with the highest levels of emotional and professional integrity.
?The successful candidate should be good for driving for global leverage, planning and execution, analytical skills, trade marketing, fashion sense, stress management, aggressive, initiative, and willing to take challenge.
?The candidate should be able to influence and persuade people to his/her ideas, as well as create win-win situations for all parties involved.
?Demonstrated ability to lead, drive, and push things forward in an innovative manner.
?Strong positive interpersonal skills influencing and working cross-functionally across all aspects of the company.
?He/She should have a “can-do” and “will-do” attitude with respect to accomplishing goals and satisfying the needs of customers.
?S/he must be an energetic, enthusiastic, results-oriented professional.
?The candidate should be fluent oral and written in English and Chinese.
?Flexibility with travel based on the overall company objectives.
EDUCATION
A Bachelor’s degree in Business related discipline is required, and a Master or other advanced degree is preferred.
